I have asked God several times to let me win the lottery. It’s not harming anyone nor interfering with other’s free will but how come I never won?
You may not be harming anyone but there is still a violation of free will on this. The winning numbers in the lottery are not results of random events but consequences of freedom of choice. We might not be able to see it but everything is actually in Divine Order even to the tiniest detail. To enable us to understand, here is an example.
In a pre-lottery event, balls are weighed then poured into the lottery machine. In some other cases, the lottery machine is moved towards the stage for the audience to see and for the Internal Revenue representatives to witness. Looking at the scenario, there are three instances when free will is being exercised, the weighing of the balls, the pouring into the machine, the moving towards the stage.
When a person weighs the ball he has to choose which ball to weigh first. For instance, a guy weighs the ball from 1 to 49, and then pours it into the machine. The order of the balls would be different in the machine if that same person weighs the ball at random. Probably he may start with 6, then drops it in the machine, then picks up number 22, then drops it in the machine again and so forth. Everything is actually controlled by that person’s free will. When another person moves the machine to the stage there might be some shaking, hence, will change the order of the balls in the machine. What I am trying to point out is that even to the tiniest detail, things happen as consequences of our choices and other people’s choices may it be unintentionally or deliberately.
However, consistent to the fact that you can harness the power of the Universe anyway you like because of your freedom of choice, there are equally effective prayers which supersede the first and the second criteria. For the most powerful factor among the four is the third:
That you believe without the slightest doubt that your prayer is effective and will be answered.
You may know some people who mastered the third criterion. And you may able to master this along the way, but be reminded of the Law of Cause and Effect that for every action there are corresponding consequences.
In the previous sections, I have outlined some suggestions on how we may pray. And to tell you frankly, prayer is already enough for us to get what we truly want. However, most of us become so impatient that the things and the gifts that we have been asking for gets derailed along the way because we tend to ‘swim’ towards it rather than just ‘float’, and go with the flow.
I have formulated a guideline, ‘The Art of Floating’, which will hopefully not only allow us to understand why we are not getting what we want but will provide some insights on how we can truly achieve our goals.
