What is my purpose here on earth?
Am I here to become a father of a child who will rule the world and then tear it apart after? Is serving my countrymen my purpose in life? Did God send me to become a soldier and fight for life? Or am I here just to make everyone else’s life miserable? How would I know what is my purpose? Why am I here? Why am I alive? I am confused.
Believing in the idea that you are born with a purpose signifies that you also consider the concept of being predestined for a certain mission or goal. This is a question similar to that of “Free Will and Destiny” which was earlier discussed.
There is only one purpose in life, which is
To experience life itself
There is no other purpose except that. And how you want to experience life is all up to you.
No one has the right to impose their ‘mission’ on you nor has the right to force you to believe in their ideologies. It is your life. You choose your own purpose. And by choosing your own purpose, it is hoped that you will experience how it feels to live. It is by living that you experience joy and sorrow, healing and pain, birth and death.
And by virtue of your free will, you have a choice to decide which road you want to take. Whether you opt for the path with anguish and pain along the way or you take the direction towards those which make you happy. And by the way, happiness itself is relative. A person living in a shanty might be more contented and joyful than a billionaire who lives in the grandest mansion in the world.
You will notice several genuine philanthropists who dedicated their lives in helping people. They have decided to take that course and have made it their purpose. There are those who have wholeheartedly pledged to serve the poorest of the poor, and made it their vocation. The bottom line is, no matter what path you take and what purpose you want to believe in, it is all boils down to your choice, and to your decision. Thus, live your life and choose your own purpose.
