Theology of a Modern Heretic

An ordinary man's unconventional belief about God and his existence.

Does God feel emotions that are generally considered very human, such as anger or impatience, when He supposedly has all the time in the Universe and can see the things turned out eventually according to His Plan?

A lot of people consider disasters, accidents, serious illness, and tragedies as punishment of God due to their wicked actions. They feel that every time they commit mistakes against Him, He becomes insanely enraged and strikes a lightning bolt to the offender.

Some of the people believe that He is a jealous God who might side against the worshippers. Once He sees them revering “another God”, He will no longer provide immeasurable abundance but suffering to the “sacrilegious” follower.

Indeed, most of us look at God capable of these human qualities because we are brought up by a society which believes in a God that provides abundantly and punishes furiously. However, it is illogical for the most powerful entity in the universe to get jealous because in the first place nobody or nothing is above Him. If He gets jealous, there should be somebody who is far better than Him, but in truth, nobody is above Him because He is The Everything.

“So does He feel emotions then?”

Yes and No. Let us stick to the fact that God is everything, hence, He may feel emotions, and He may not. He is both. He is neither. He is either. Nevertheless, all calamities, tragedies, and our sufferings are not products of God’s emotions but are consequences of our actions.
