Why can’t He just get in the way especially when innocent children are dying in calamities? And why can’t He just destroy all the menace in the society?
Great calamities are results of imbalances in nature which are mostly consequences of our actions. Flash floods are caused by illegal logging. Ozone depletion is a result of our extensive usage of chlorofluorocarbons. Any calamity you can think of is an indirect/direct consequence of our actions. In these calamities, a lot of people die including innocent children. Their deaths are not the workings of God but the results of our exploits. Although it injures Him when one dies, God will still not interfere because He will always uphold our freedom of choice. We can always choose to protect and save these kids. We can always choose to prepare for any disasters. We can always choose to prevent it from happening. Again, all depends on the decisions that we make.
The same thing holds true to our society’s meance. These people choose to walk the darker side of the path. It is their choice. Hence, God would still not interfere.
“Can’t I just pray and ask Him to destroy all these wicked and corrupt individuals?”
Doing so would again interfere in their freedom of choice; hence, obviously, your prayer wouldn’t be answered. This will actually lead us to another question,
How come He doesn’t answer my prayers?
